ABOUT US

J5OM is a 5 piece Christian Rock band in the style of "Classic Rock". We play all original music solidly based in scripture & of God's influence in our lives. We believe that God created music as a vehicle to deposit His Word into our hearts. An example of how powerful music is as an influence in your life… Just take a moment to think about your favorite song & of how it makes you feel. Get the point? Music has the power to cut through the emotions & feelings you experience & change them for better or worse. We hope the music of J5OM will prove to be a positive & uplifting experience for you! J5OM was formed in 2000 as a musical ministry team to the prisons. Though prison ministry is our primary focus, we play many public venues as well. In our current line-up, 3 of us have been together from the beginning. Andy recently joined the group. And we have just welcomed Reg Hearn as our new bass player. Check our upcoming events area for information concerning concerts both private & public.

OUR MUSIC

Our music is not your typical "church music," & definitely not for the religious! We play original “Classic Rock" style Christ centered music with a message. We also play a more up-beat contemporary music service in local churches. You’re as likely to hear us in a public park as you would on the radio!

We have been told that we sound like everything from Alice Cooper, The Eagles, The Moody Blues, The Who & Led Zeppelin! And why not? We were all learning our chops from them & everyone in between! You will hear influences of many of the bands from the late '60's through the mid-'70's - and that is a lot of prime music territory!! I encourage you to have a listen, we currently have 2 CD's available for sale, just drop us a line & find out how easy it is to take 5 old men home with you!

OUR MINISTRY

Our primary interest is Prison Ministry. We play in a variety of correctional facilities in WA state both Adult &; Juvenile. We share a message of hope for a better life through Faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Christianity is more of a practical, yet spiritual, relationship with the God of all creation rather than a religious system. We have been known to show up in various churches, fund raisers &; concerts in public venues such as Olympia's Arts Walk event & The Breaking of the Bread outreach sponsored by The Christian Bikers Tabernacle.
